Trailblazing Leaders: Celebrating Dylan Reid and Justin Justice
At the Cumberland Trail Conservancy, our trails are built and maintained by dedicated individuals who care deeply about creating meaningful outdoor experiences for hikers. Today, we are excited to recognize two team members whose hard work, leadership, and commitment have earned them new roles within our organization.

Congratulations to Dylan Reid, Crew Supervisor
Please join us in congratulating Dylan Reid on his promotion to Crew Supervisor.
Dylan has been with the Cumberland Trail Conference for three years and has made a lasting impact through dedication, perseverance, and exceptional trail-building skills. One of Dylan’s favorite sections of the Cumberland Trail is Morgan Creek in Laurel-Snow, a challenging area known for its many rock steps.
When asked about a proud moment from working on the trail, Dylan shared:
“Every time I see someone hiking on our trails and showing their gratitude for our work.”
That appreciation from trail users is a testament to the quality and care Dylan brings to every project. Whether facing heat, humidity, rain, or cold, Dylan continues to demonstrate the resilience and leadership that make for a successful Crew Supervisor.
Outside of work, Dylan enjoys spending time on personal property projects and fishing. Dylan hopes visitors leave the trail feeling connected to nature, a reflection of the values that guide daily work on the Cumberland Trail.

Congratulations to Justin Justice, Crew Lead
We are also proud to announce the promotion of Justin Justice to Crew Lead.
Justin joined the Cumberland Trail Conservancy in April 2021 and has played a key role in the development and maintenance of multiple trail sections. Justin’s favorite areas are the Piney sections, where some of the first trail-building experiences took place.
One of Justin’s proudest accomplishments has been:
“Being a part of multiple sections of the Cumberland Trail and feeling proud when I hike them with my family.”
Justin values the opportunity to experience different aspects of nature every day while helping create and improve trail experiences for others. A favorite tool of the trade is the trusty mattock, which Justin describes as invaluable once the proper technique is mastered.
When not on the trail, Justin enjoys spending time with family and working on projects at home. Justin hopes hikers experience a sense of gratitude and connection to the outdoors when walking the sections built and maintained by the crew.
Justin also shared:
“I am very proud and grateful for all the hard work our volunteers and past employees have put into the Cumberland Trail for everyone to enjoy.”
Building the Future of the Cumberland Trail
Both Dylan and Justin embody the mission and values of the Cumberland Trail Conservancy. Their leadership, work ethic, and passion for the outdoors will continue to strengthen our trail program and enhance the experience of everyone who enjoys the Cumberland Trail.
Please join us in congratulating Crew Supervisor Dylan Reid and Crew Lead Justin Justice on these well-deserved promotions. We look forward to seeing their continued impact on the trail and our community.
Thank you, Dylan and Justin, for your dedication to the Cumberland Trail Conference and the hikers who enjoy these trails every day!
