Trail Building Update
In June, our trail crew finished the portion of the trail that leads behind the waterfall. They constructed over 1150 feet of new trail within four weeks! This trail consisted of 155 stone steps and pavers. There were several cribbing walls built due to the severity of the elevation. The terrain is a mix of rocky soil and boulder fields with a steep descent into the Piney River gorge. The weather has proven productivity difficult.
The Cumberland Trails Conference will be set up at the Tri-State Outdoors Festival in Cumberland Gap on July 15th. We will be there to answer questions, award our prize winners from the Cumberland Challenge, sell our swag, and get to know our community within the northern terminus of the Cumberland Trail. We hope to see you there! For more info, click the button below.

June Volunteer Event

We want to thank our volunteers from our June volunteer event! We did trail maintenance and trash pickup on Montlake Road Trailhead at North Chickamauga Creek Gorge SNA. The two days of events, we removed 10 (33-gallon) garbage bags of litter and cleared almost 1.5 miles of existing trail along Hogskin Loop. Thank you all so much for volunteering your time with the CTC!
Great job to all who have embarked on the Cumberland Challenge with enthusiasm and determination! Only 2 weeks left to join and win prizes.

Each hike you take before July 15 will provide you with points - but if it's on the Cumberland Trail it will be worth bonus points! Our lucky winners will receive prizes that can be claimed in Cumberland Gap on July 15 at Tri-State Outdoors Fest! Join us in celebrating this remarkable journey and don't forget to follow @tristateoutdoorsfest and @fytfeed
