Location: Laurel - Snow

Describe the condition and problems: Four trees acoss trail before first metal bridge.  Three small and one mid size.  They are after the first climb and before the bridge.  Also, there is about four bad erosion spots on the trail running along side the creek. 

Status: work order open, work not completed

In the month of September 2011, the Tennessee River Gorge segemnt had maintenance performed.  This segment of the Cumberland Trail should offer no problems for hiking.  Tony Hook CTC

Location: possum creek near coal strip mine area

Problem:  the log bridge near strip mining area had been tipped over and is up side down by flash water.

Status:     Ed, Brandy, and Scoobie repaired bridge issue, work completed.

After driving to Cove Lake State Park I solo-hiked the Cumberland Mountain Segment, S to N, from the very edge of the roadway near the park to the Tank Springs trailhead. I was surprised by the difference in the quality of the trail here, generally expecting some continuity with the Three Gorges experience just hiked, all
